Charles is a minor character in Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure.

Emperor's TreasureEdit

Chapter 1: Chance EncounterEdit

Raphael first meets Charles at Place de la Concorde in Chapter 1 while searching for Sapphire. He mentions to Raphael that he heard there was a bulldog on the left side of the fountain in the area. He then asks if Raphael has heard of the Phantom Notes, which he explains are scattered around Paris in 18 fragments. They supposedly play the most beautiful music when reassembled, so Charles asks Raphael to search for them, promising a fantastic reward if he gathers them all.

Chapter 6: Intrigue in the ShadowsEdit

Charles later reappears when Raphael and Marie are trying to enter the Palace of Versailles. He introduces himself as the conductor of a music troupe. Because one of their violinists fell ill and could not play, he asks Marie to fill in for them. He offers to let Marie warm up first, leading to the minigame Trying Tryouts.

Charles is very impressed and insists that she play in the orchestra. He gives both Marie and Raphael tickets to enter the Palace of Versailles. If Raphael and Marie speak to him after the show, Charles thanks Marie for her performance and offers her guidance in the future for her career in music.

Chapter 10: Parting WaysEdit

In Chapter 10, Charles appears outside of Raphael's Apartment. Talking to Charles after gathering all the pieces of the Phantom Notes causes the bonus chapter Marie's Test to be unlocked. He thanks Raphael for gathering all of the pieces. However, this must be done after completing the game, or else Charles says that he does not want to take away Raphael's prize after all his hard work until he has beaten the game.

In the final cutscene, Charles can be seen standing behind Marie as she plays violin for the Duchess Elisabeth on stage.

Paris CaperEdit

Charles appears as a rare accomplice in Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper. He is called "Charles the Conductor". He can be promoted from Charles the Conductor C all the way to Charles the Conductor A.
